Pieceful GatheringCATEGORY Traditional, Reproduction
DESCRIPTION Carrie Quinn and daughter, Katie Reed, are co-owners of Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop in Fox River Grove, Illinois. When Carrie opened the shop in 2006, she wanted to focus on reproduction fabrics and quilts. Because so many of the quilts she loved were scrappy, she started cutting “Snippets,” which are 10 inch squares out of every bolt that came into the shop. (layer cakes came late Carrie’s daughter, Katie Reed, joined the shop full time in 2008 and it quickly became apparent that her math and science background would be a big help in writing accurate patterns for the shop. Now the two work together on most of the shop’s patterns, including the Snippet Stew line and a line of mostly smaller reproduction patterns that the two design for Sarah’s Sewing Circle, a Pieceful Gathering club that meets at the shop each month. These patterns represent my line so that you can get a feel for my designs. Other patterns are also available. Some are shown on our website or you can contact us for more information (see below).
